Apple Goes to Verizon

The rumors have been flying and buzzing for a while about how unsatisfied Apple has been with AT&T. Well, it seems Apple is working on a new product that will be going to Verizon. They'll still keep the iPhone with AT&T, but for more sales and more customers, they've created something a little different for Verizon.
First, you'll see the iPhone Lite, which is a thinner and cheaper version of the AT&T iPhone. It will have a chip technology, which incorporates many tytpes of chips and drives, sending the cost of silicon down. Secondly, you'll see the Apple Media Pad, which will be similar to the Amazon Kindle but smaller with a larger screen.
The Media Pad will probably be the biggest seller. It's rumored as a breakthrough device that is a larger scale version of the iPod or iPhone. It is rumored to have photos, HD movies, music, and WiFi. It's also presumesd to have VoIP calls. You'll have the basic iPhone Apps, but Verizon will also have their own application store on the Apple tablet.
I guess it really was in Verizon's favor to refuse the Apple contract in 2007. They couldn't meet the terms then, but by waiting Apple is now desperate for customers since AT&T just hasn't met the potential for Apple. They did great at first, but for the most part, revenue has steadily decreased.
Now, with the new contract and the new products, Verizon will be able to help Apple and themselves. Splitting revenue or not, there will be a vast improvement with the new iPhon 4G LTE and the Media Pad.
Personally, I'm not sure I'd want to use the iphone Media Pad as my regular phone, but it is cool that you can make phones calls on it.
When can you expect the release? Well, it's thought that the Media Pad will be released first, before the iPhone Lite. More than likely we won't see any Apple products for Verizon until the exclusive contract with AT&T ends in 2010. At first, it was speculated that the release would be summer of 2009, but it's nearly fall and we still haven't seen any official word.
As for the iPhone Lite release date, you may not see that for a little while because it's on a 4G network, and Verizon does not support the network just yet. Unless, they can deliver the network sooner, you probably won't see the iPhone 4g LTE until 2010.
