Duplicate Content Concerns

When you write something on the internet, all that you can do is hope that no one copies your content and profits off of it. Well, it happens, and it really happens more often that you would probably like or hope.
It is a good idea to check the internet for duplicate content of your work frequently so that you can correct the situation before you are penalized... Yes you can be penalized for someone else copying and pasting yout content elsewhere on the internet.
You just want to be weary of websites that have Google Ads, as if you go straight to that person, they may retaliate by adding your Google ID in replacement of theirs and then create loads of fraudulent clicks, so that your ID is shut down. In these cases, you want to go straight to Google and file a DMCA report.
If you don't already have one, you may want to add a Copyright statement to your website or articles so that there is at least a warning on the page to hopefully prevent at least a few people from copying your content.
Most of the time, you'll find that the person who copies your content is copying without a malicious intent to boost their own ratings with your high page rank or high traffic volume. Many people who duplicate content do so because they just don't know any better.
You will find that when dealing with the different people, you need to watch what you say, as you want to be as nice and non-threatening as you can. You do not want anything to come back and bite you on the butt when all you are trying to do is correct a wrong done to you.

Tracy, you can do it by adding the copyscape banner on your website and everything will be fined here...

1. it's automated and brings me results instead of me searching for duplicated content. All i had to do was submit my feed and it started monitoring my feed showing me who's republished my articles on the web.
2. i get notified by email so it contacts me when it finds copies of my articles online.
3. i use their image badge feature to alert me directly on my website when my content is being lifted.
4. it's a free service as opposed the "per page" cost of copyscape/copysentry.
