Portable Hard Drive

You can use an external hard drive for your main computer or to give your laptop or netbook more storage. Personally, I use mine for my mini HP, since the mini netbooks have very little extra storage, but if needed I could use it for my laptop or desktop, whatever is needed at the time.
There are different hard drives that you purchase. Most people prefer the 400 and 500 GB Portable External Hard Drive, but you can also purchase the 240 and 320 GB as well. The higher the GB, the more you will pay, but if you pay less for less GB, you may find that later on, you'll need more space, and will have to spend more to purchase another. So, I'd suggest bigger to save money in the end.
You can also pick from different colors. Some of the manufacturers offer different colored external hard drives so that each person can pick their favorite color, or close to. The more popular colors include black, silver, white, and red, but you can also find various shades of blue, green, orange, and other shades of red.
So, when you're in the market for more storage, instead of purchasing a new computer with more memory and hard drive space, it's a lot cheaper to consider purchasing a portable hard drive.
