8 Ways to Green Your Holidays

Although, the holidays are over, I felt like I should still post this, as it can be helpful for the next year coming up, and the one after that and so on. The following eight ideas for having a more green holiday season were snatched from the company I work for. They posted this list during the month of December, as they are trying to go green, so they want all of their employees to implement more green techniques at home, not just at work.
Going green is the new "in" thing to do, so you want to make sure that you get at many go green ideas as you can so that you can be at the top of your game in your clique.
1. Use a light timer for holiday lights.
2. Try gift wrap alternatives like newspaper, fabric or old calendars.
3. Recycle your Christmas tree.
4. Check packaging for the recycle code and use your curbside bins.
5. Email greeting cards instead of mailing them.
6. Make dinners BYOP-bring your own plate. It reduces waste and your guests have their own to-go containers.
7. Donate extra ornaments to your local church or non-profit for their decorations.
8. Resolve to step up your recycling efforts in the upcoming year.
