Sprint HTC EVO Release Date

May 17th 2010 16:19
Category: Mobile Phones
Sprint is getting the HTC EVO android operating system cell phone. I'm pretty excited about it, as I'll be trading in my Palm Pre for one of these remarkable phones. Ha. Well, anything has got to be better than the Pre, as the Palm Pre has many problems.

If you are like me and want to upgrade to the EVO, the wait isn't much longer

Sprint will be releasing the HTC Evo on June 4th, which is about a year after they released the Pre. How convenient. I may not find myself at the Sprint door on the release day, but I'll be there shortly after, if not just ordering online to save the hassle.

The HTC EVO for Sprint is rumored to cost $199 after a $100 rebate, which isn't too bad. That's of course if you're signing up for a 2 year contract.

The buzz is that the EVO will be the best android phone yet released.

Watch out for the 8.0 mega-pixel camera on the back, 1.3 mega-pixel camera on the front, and 1 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor.

The EVO will have tons of great features and apps that are perfect for those who want to keep updated.

I can't wait to trade in my crappy Palm Pre for the HTC EVO. The only thing I worry about is the on-screen keyboard. The HTC Hero has a teeny tiny keyboard that is hard to use. Supposidly the buttons are larger on the EVO. I will definitely have to check that out before purchasing.

In any case, my boyfriend will be jealous, as he's the type who must have the best new cell phone. Plus, he hates his HTC Hero, and the EVO will definitely swamp the Hero in features and usability.

Comment by My Opinion

I am not the one to have updated cell phones (mine is almost 5 years old), but as a Sprint customer I am glad that they are finally coming out with a phone that competes with the other networks. From what I have seen they are always behind other carriers. Hopefully this is the beginning of a change!!!
