Iphone 4 Reception Fix

According to Apple, the reception issues are associated with a software issue. I'm not sure how plausible that is, but hey, it got Apple to admit they didn't do something right, which doesn't happen often.
The company is fixing the problem, and iPhone 4 consumers will have an update within a few weeks that will potentially fix the problem. The update will be free and will be available for iPhone 4, as well as the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.
Apple is saying that when they created the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display, they did it wrong. The formula displays 2 more bars than it should. They have corrected the formula according to AT&T's recommended formula. The update will also make bars 1, 2, and 3, a little bit taller so that they're easier to see.
Hopefully this will correct the reception and signal strength issues, but this IS the second time Apple has blamed software issues for dropped calls and data degradation. They are adamant that the problem is not caused by the antenna design.
If all else fails, Apple has suggested a $1 fix. Instead of the $30 case, buy a $1 rubber band bracelet, cut out holes for the jacks and controls, and wrap it around your iPhone 4.
