The livescribe smart pen is a digital voice recorder, but it's also a regular ink pen. The pen allows you to upload whatever you've recorded onto your computer. The pen also has an infrared camera on the tip so that you can check your work as your write. Sounds neat right?
Ok, I definitely think that tprice tag is worth it for this product. You can find the 1GB Livescribe Smart Pen for $150, and the 2GB pen priced at $200.
This livescribe smartpen wil pick up any audio near you while you write. You can adjust the mic settings, but for the most part as you write, you're recording. This is great for taking notes during class because when you get home, you can play back the lecture and even upload it to your computer for easier study sessions.
The livescribe software regnizes words so that you can search through your notes easier even if you have awful handwriting. Although, it won't convert your notes to computer text, there is a third party software that can.
You'll find that there are already companies creating apps for the smartpen. There is already one app that lets lets you draw a piano that you can play. Now how cool is that?
You can even make a movie out of your notes and audio. Then when you play it back you can see how everything plays together while you were drawing or writing.
You can access your notes anywere, as long as you can log into your Livescribe account.
For $5.95 you can purchase 4 medium black and 1 medium red ink cartridges, and for $19.95 you can buy a four pack of single subject LiveScribe notebooks.
