Logitech Spy Camera Clock

November 17th 2008 07:11
If your just a little more than a tad paranoid, you may want to consider the Logitech Spy Camera Clock, which is essentially a desk clock with a hidden camera. The clock is wireless but you'll need rto plug it to a receiver that you will need to plug in. The actual clock is wireless, but you'll plug a USB from the receiver into the computer.

When the camera within the clock detects motion, it will record on your computer, which is all well and good, but you have to have your computer on in order to actually monitor the area. There is no external storage that will hold the video if your computer is off.

There is a playback feature that works like an editing program where all you have to do is drag to move different times around and to automatically skip areas where there is no footage.

Although the real time scrubbing could be better becuase of the lag time, the video quality is pretty good with 640x480 resolution with separate Windows Media clips that are about one and a half megabytes per te seconds.

You can watch your camera live on the internet by clicking the camera to view. There is a 13 second lag, but the overall online service is pretty cool. You already have a few features with regular service, but if you opt to get the WiLife Platinum, you'll not only get many more features such as remote playback, but you'll have to pay a minimum of $80 a year.

With the online services, you can store you videos online and you can get text messages and email alerts.

You can purchase the entire Logitech Spy Camera Clock set for $330 regular retail, or $278 on amazon, which includes the Logitech Spy Camera, Logitech USB receiver, Logitech Command Center PC software, and USB cable. Or you can purchase just the Logitech Spy Camera and Power cord for $227 on amazon, with a regular retail price of 250.

Well, Whitney.

I personally a clock lover and I have collect many assorted clocks. However, I thought this spy clock is a little bit expensive to me. It would be better, if the price can be lowered than $200...
