PoGo Instant Printer

January 4th 2009 10:50
Although, we had to say goodbye to the Polaroid Camera, we can now purchase the PoGo Instant Printer by Polaroid, which allows you to print and share pictures no matter where you are. The Polaroid magic from the instant camera, is mimicked with the printer. You can print pictures from your camera phone or even your digital camera.

The PoGo Instant printer uses ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology and is battery powered so that you can print your pictures to go and share them on the road (so to speak or literally, your choice).

The Polaroid Instant Mobile Printer provides a simple way to share pictures from your digital camera or your phone instantly. Although, the pictures print pretty small at 2" x 3" borderless picture.

Specs
  • Size: 4.7”H x 2.8"W x 0.9”D
  • Weight: 8 oz without paper and including the battery
  • Battery: 7.2V rechargeable lithium-ion
  • User Interface: 2 Tri-Colour LED indicators
  • AC Adapter: 9V output Universal Input 100V to 240 VAC
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth OPP USB 2.0 USB A connector
  • Print Speed: 60 seconds per print, from send to share

    When you purchase a PoGo Instant Printer, you receive the Polaroid printer, an AC adaptor, rechargeable battery, 10 sheets of Zink paper, a user guide, and the warranty card.

    Essentially, you use the USB port to plug in a compatible digital camera or set up the Bluetooth to connect to a cell phone. When you press the 'print' button, it takes about 20 seconds for the printer to start and slowly feed the paper. It takes about 60 seconds total before your 2" x 3" picture has printed.

    The Polaroid Instant Mobile Printer is great for parties, but for the most part the picture quality is ok. The pictures aren't going to be something special that you will be able to treasure forever, but they get the job done in a quickly printed picture.

    Pros
    * True portable printer
    * Good connectivity
    * Smudge proof, water proof and ink-free prints

    Cons
    * Paper is expensive
    * Print quality is not the best
    * Battery life poor

    How much will one of these guys run you? Well, $99.95 retail with a 30 pack of paper running about $12.99.
