You can now monitor your home energy. For about $150, you can use the PowerCost Home Energy Monitor to keep track of your energy use. It is an unobtrusive gadget that is about the size of a clock. The Home Energy Monitor displays your electricitysage, and at a glance, you can read how much energy your home is using in dollars and cents, as well as kW.
By monitoring your home energy use, you have the potential for saving anywhere from 10 to 20 percent on your energy bill, which is a huge savings for just $150.
The PowerCost Monitor consists of two functional units- 1) a dectection unit which is the sensor unit and 2) the display unit.
The sensor unit is compatible with North American digital and electromechanical meter types, and is the only component that s in direct contact with your utility's meter. A clamp mechanism allos it to be attached to the metter glass which can quickly be attached and detached without making changes to your meter.
Then the display unit is located inside your house. It received the wireless signal from the sensore unity on the utility meter and displays the energy consumption in real time as well as dollars and cents.
