Problems with the Blackberry Storm

As much as I wanted the Storm to be the coolest thing since the initial release of the iPhone, there are a few things that aren’t so great about the new Blackberry.
1. The Storm measures 4.4 by 2.4 by 0.55 inches and weighs 5.5 ounces, which makes it pretty bulky.
2. Unfortunately, the ClickThrough feature can make navigating through all the menus a little hard. It would be so much simpler with the TrackBall.
3. The overall performance is pretty slow. If you turn the phone on its side (an accelerometer detects the orientation), and the display often takes several seconds to switch from portrait to landscape modes. But, it’s not just that… Flicking up and down on the main menu and clicking the icons takes a while to scroll through. Plus when tapping an icon, there is a nice pause before anything happens, and when tapping messages, there is a lag, which can be a pain.
4. The Web browser is pretty slow, as well. You can double tap to zoom in on the page, but you can’t zoom out again; you have to tap one of the two magnifying glasses at the bottom of the page.
5. No Wi-Fi.
There are of course many advantages, such as:
1. It’s only $199 with a new, 2 year contract.
2. Nice 3.25 inch touch display with 480x360 resolution, which results in crisp images perfect for e-mails, Web browsing, or watching videos
3. Tons of features such as 3.2MP camera with auto-focus/flash, GPS, dual mode CDMA/GSM, instant messaging (Windows Live, Yahoo!, Google Talk, AIM, and BlackBerry IM), Web mail (POP and IMAP accounts as well as AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail), text and picture messaging, productivity applications great for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and hundreds of third party apps such as RSS readers, Facebook, and Myspace.
4. Great sound quality with controls for speakerphone, muting, adding calls, and calling up the dial pad appear while you're in a call.
5. Tons of multimedia options for music, video players, etc. that work great with the Bluetooth capabilities with excellent sound quality.
6. 1GB of internal storage and an 8GB microSD card slot.
Given the 5 basic downfalls, the Blackberry Storm is the most feature-packed BlackBerry, to date, but the Storm can whip the iPhone in the rear even though it isn’t quite as peppy as the BlackBerry Bold.
