The Noriko-san Goggles have an electronic sign which lets other passengers on the bus or train with you know where you are going and exactly what stop you are getting off at.
This is to prevent you from missing your stop if you happen to doze off while traveling. In theory, if you are to doze off, the other passengers will nudge you to wake you up, alerting you that your stop is coming up. But, will they actually work? Will people actually wake you up? Will they even notice the goggles?
But, in addition to alerting other passengers where you're going, they will also create a peaceful condition allowing you to sleep comfortably.
