So the new Sony cell phone is the most expensive cell phone on the market, but it's got some appeal to it. The Sony Xperia X1 is unlike any handset that you've tried. You will quickly notice that the Xpanel home screen and the custom dashboard is going to let you jump from one application to another with just a single touch.
The default applications for the Sony X1 includes an FM radio, calender, clock, photo viewer, GPS maps, and the Opera web browser. The Xperia X1 also includes crazy colored fish alerts. You can mix and match the applications to how you want them to appear. You can even download more applications from Sony's website.
The Sony Xperia X1 has a three inch touchscreen, a horizontal slider, and a few buttons to help you navigate.
The display screen is 800 x 480 pixels, which means the screen is clear and crisp.
Size: 4.4 inches tall x 2.1 inches wide x 0.7 inch deep
Weight: 5.6 ounces
With the Sony Xperia X1 you not only get a touch screen, but you can flip the phone on its side and you have a full QERTY keyboard.
The Sony Xperia X1 has a 3.2 MP camera. The camera is a little slow to focus, but it's still 3.2 MP which is pretty good for a cell phone.
The Sony X1 also features a microSD slot underneath the battery panel cover.
The X1 supports 3G, but only if you use an AT&T SIM card. The mobile phone also has Wi-Fi built in to pick up the slack no matter what network that you're on.
According to Sony, the X1 has an averaged battery test of 6 hours, which is pretty good.
The bigges problem with the Sony Xperia X1 is that Windows Mobile underlies the Xpanel, which makes it hard to go back into Windows Mobile after you've used another application.
Another concern with the Xony Xperia X1, is that the applications load slow. Sometimes you'll have to click the application twice instead of once, which can sometimes undo what you were trying to do.
All this said... I want to go back to the Sony Xperia X1 being the most expensive cell phone on the market. So, what's the price??? If you want to purchase such phone, you'll be paying $800 in order to use the mini-touchpad and Xpanel.
