My next office purchase is going to be this staple free stapler. Basically, this stapless stapler uses a buckle stitch to bind paper together. You no longer have to worry about getting staples stuck in your regular stapler, nor do you have to worry about having to remove staples.
The stapless stapler is a great alternative for kids so that they don't get their fingers pinched, cut, or stapled. It's also a great alternative for teachers- in school and church- so that they don't have to worry about the small,
The staple free stapler is a great stapler of choice for kids and adults who may not be able to push so much pressure on a regular stapler. It's just much easier to use.
Now you will get a small rectangle punched out of the paper, but it's still a great alternative. The one problem is that it really doesn't staple through a large stack of papers; you may be able to get about 5 sheets, but if you're dealing with thin paper, such as receipts or (as mentioned) papers and paperwork for and from younger children, it can be a great alternative to metal staples.
Another advantage to a staple free stapler is that it IS staple free, meaning that's less debris and garbage that you have to throw away, so in a way it's a green stapler that benefits the environment.
These guys are priced from about $5 to $10. You can find some of the cheaper ones on eBay.
