How to Use Your Old Computer

So you've replaced your old computer with a new shiny one, but what are you supposed to do with the old one? You don't need it anymore. Here's a pretty comprehensive list of ideas that you can consider when trying to reuse the old computer. Just don't throw it in the garbage. First consider finding someone who may be able to use the computer, and if that doesn't work try to find a recycling program that will accept old electronics,
Otherwise, you can consider one of the following options.
* Make a File Server out of it
* Build a home automation server
* Make a gamer server for free xbox Live or PS game capability
* Build an arcade console
* Make it a firewall/router
* Turn it into a web server
* Build a Print server
* Make it a Proxy server
* Build a TiVo
* Build a SlingBox
* Make a security camera system
* Make an internet radio station
There are free programs and installation guides that you can check out so that you don't have to get rid of your old computer. And, as mentioned above, if there's nothing you can do with it, and you don't have anyone who can use the computer, recycle it. Do not throw it in your dump.
