Zomm Bluetooth Alarm Smart

June 21st 2010 16:08

The Zomm was featured on Operah and has definitely made a big impact on technology and gadgets. The gadget was created by a mom, who had an Operah-influenced idea to help people to stop losing their cell phones.

The device is a small quarter-sized device that is a cell phone leash, bluetooth speaker, and a security alert.

The ZOMM device alerts you every time that you're more than 30 feet away from your cell phone. Using the bluetooth technology, the device vibrates, flashes, and makes a sound when you go to leave your cell phone behind. The concern is making sure that you don't loose the small device.

The bluetooth speaker notifies you of incoming calls when it's paired with your cell phone. The device vibrates, flashes, and rings when you're getting a new call. Press the Z-button in the center and the ZOMM is a fully functional speakerphone. It even has a noise-canceling microphone. Press the button twice and the call goes away and directly to voicemail. The device offers up to two hours of talk time.

All this is well and good, but my favorite aspect of the ZOMM is the personal safety feature. When in an emergency situation, you can push the Z-button for 9 seconds and the ZOMM will sound a panic alarm. If you continue to push the button through the alarm, the ZOMM will automatically dial 911 for assistance. If you're in a situation where you can't talk, a pre-recorded message will tell the operator to send help immediately. The device works anywhere in the world.

How much is this little device? $79.99 for either a black or white device. You can purchase the additional replacement guarantee for $19.95.
